2024 LMAC Judo Kata Clinic

LMAC is excited to announce the dates for the 2024 Judo Kata Clinic!  If you would like to learn more or would like to refine your Kata technique, LMAC is hosting a Judo Kata clinic featuring Eiko Shepherd.  Eiko Shepherd was the first woman to compete with men at the Kodokan in Japan. She is a USA Judo certified international coach, master level judo teacher and National Class A kata judge as well as the Vice Chairperson of Kata. She is also the Chairperson of USJF kata committee and a USJF CLASS A Kata instructor. She has been the National Youth Kata coordinator since 1997. Shepherd Sensei also acted as the women’s head coach for the 1993 US Olympic festival.  Watch for further details and registration form coming soon!

Roseberry Invitational Kata Tournament

LMAC will once again be hosting the Roseberry Invitational Kata Tournament!  This will be an opportunity for the SRSBK dojos in Iowa and Nebraska to get together for fun, fellowship, and a little friendly intra-dojo competition in memory of Shihan John Roseberry.  Participants will have the chance to demonstrate two karate and/or kobudo kata as part of this competition at an affordable price.

Nebraska State Judo Championship

This tournament is open to all Nebraskans and non-Nebraskans.  This is a USA Judo sanctioned tournament.  Only USA Judo competitors/referees can enter our tournament due to a decision that was made recently by USA Judo.  There is an option to get a temporary membership or participate by waiving USA Judo insurance benefits.  If you can show you have another membership and are willing to sign up for USA Judo, we will waive your entry fee to the tournament.    The flyer and registration form are coming soon.

Sho-Rei-Shobu-Kan National Convention

June 20-23, 2024

Each year the weekend after Father's Day, the Lincoln Martial Arts Center hosts the Sho-Rei-Shobu-Kan National Convention.  Don't miss this great opportunity to train and fellowship with the rest of our SRSBK family!

Fall Roseberry Invitational Kata Tournament

LMAC is holding the Roseberry Invitational Kata Tournament twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall.  This will be an opportunity for the SRSBK dojos in Iowa and Nebraska to get together for fun, fellowship, and a little friendly intra-dojo competition in memory of Shihan John Roseberry.  Participants will have the chance to demonstrate two karate and/or kobudo kata as part of this competition at an affordable price.  Bunkai competition is being added to this event, so don't miss out!

LMAC is proud to host Jim Sternick, National Referee & Clinician with USA Judo for a referee clinic.  This is for all people who would like to learn more about the rules or just learn about refereeing a judo match for the first time. With this clinic there is a possibility of getting certified through the USJA.  Click on the link to the poster below for more information.

Paul Owen Memorial Judo Tournament

LMAC is happy to announce our Paul Owen Memorial Judo Tournament!  This tournament is open to everyone.  This is a sanctioned tournament.  Competitors must be current USJI/USA JUDO, USJF, ATJA and USJA members.  The flyer and entry form are below.

27th Annual Midwest Kobudo Gasshuku
